Dr. Rahime Erbas studied law at Selçuk University, pursued public law master with the topic ‘The Mandatory Reporting Duty of Healthcare Providers from a Comparative Law Perspective’ at Istanbul University and at Justus Liebig Universität Gießen in Germany (Erasmus Exchange) in 2012. In 2019, she completed her PhD with the title ‘Legal Duty to Act in Crimes of the Omission (delicta commissionis per omissionem) in the Turkish Penal Code’ at Istanbul University. Dr. Erbaş carried out a doctoral research at the Osnabrück Universität in Germany between 2016 and 2017 and has been a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institut in Freiburg and Zürich Universität. She has one edited book published: E. Johnston, R. Erbas and D. Jasinski, A Comparative Analysis of Pre-Trial Procedure in Europe: The Search for an Ideal Model (Istanbul University Press, 2020). Since August 2020 she is a full time assistant professor in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law Department at Istanbul University Faculty of Law. Her research interests focus on the substantive part of criminal law, organized crime, medical criminal law and violence against women. She speaks Turkish (mother tongue), English, German and Italian.
