Dr. Tuba Kelep Pekmez Works and teaches in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law Department at Istanbul University Faculty of Law since 2010. Her master thesis was on a comparative research on police power on using firearms. She published her work on 2015 titled “Police Power to Use Firearms in Turkish and Anglo-Saxon Law in the Frame of ECHR’s Decisions”. She then focused on her doctorate research on “Criminal Procedural Act” for which she visited Max Planck Institute of International Criminal Law and Criminology as a researcher in 2016. She then successfully completed her work in 2019. She also published her doctoral research titled “Criminal Procedural Act”. She got involved numerous comparative criminal law activities and events in Turkey and abroad as participant and organizer. She has published articles on various topics including criminal responsibility arising from usage of autonomous vehicles which is the first of its kind that deals with the matter in the context of Turkish penal law. Since June 2020 she is a full time assistant professor in Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law Department at Istanbul University Faculty of Law and her lectures are Penal Law- General Provisions, Penal Law Special Provisions and Judicial Powers of Police.
